This was our first visit to Luciano's, we rode our bicycles in for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant has a classy ambiance, so we were concerned about dining in bicycle outfits, but our waitress made us feel welcome. There are about 12 tables in the front room, with additional seating in a second room, which we did not enter, but I suspect there were probably 18 or so additional tables there. We were welcomed with a basket of bread and a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dipping sauce which was served from an unusual cruet. We started with Caprese, very tasty. Then I had Pasta Contadina, and my wife had 1/2 portion of Penne Mare Monti. The pasta was prepared perfectly, just the right amount of bite. Portions were moderate, not the overwhelmingly large portions that are common at chain restaurants. Soft music, and a generally peaceful atmosphere made for an enjoyable experience. Our drinks were well tended by the courteous waitress. For dessert, Creme Brulee. The bill was $30, which I consider appropriate. |

As soon as I stepped in the door on my first visit tonight, I was impressed by their selection of fine Italian wine. Nancy warmly greeted me and I had a nice introduction into their selection. I enjoyed a wonderfully full bodied Barolo and an aromatic Nero d' Avola. I was overwhelmed by the wonderful service and fantastic cuisine. I plan to return especially for the wine pairing events.
